 Bollywood Strings and SOI specialises in merging Indian and western music and we are especially proud of our extensive use of the western orchestra in our work. Although we have used the western orchestra to create an ambience for Indian music a lot in India, sometimes up to 80 players a session, we were eager to open this concept here in England. Our premiere concert with this concept was at the Barbican last year where we featured some 38 string players from all over London, especially trained to play Indian music for the event.
For the year 2004, one of the concert approaches we are offering is this very same East-West Classical pop style. Of course, the number of players largely depends on affordability and suitability. However, we are experienced in working in small groups as well and have used the standard 5-piece quintet often in performances.
